Hyderabad: Heavy losses in business drove a 37-year-old businessman to suicide.

According to Miyapur police, the deceased, K. Venkat Rajesh, of Miyapur, resorted to the extreme step by consuming some unknown poison on July 4. He was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where he died on Tuesday night.

In another case, P. Komala Devi, 38, committed suicide by jumping down from the fifth floor of the hospital building where she was admitted for treatment. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Indo-American Cancer Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on July 8. She jumped down from the fifth floor and died on the spot. Police suspect that ill-health might have driven her to suicide. She was a resident of Prakash Nagar in Begumpet.
