37 kg ganja seized, two arrested
The Uppal police on Monday apprehended two ganja peddlers and seized 37 kg narcotic substance from their possession.
​Hyderabad: The Uppal police on Monday apprehended two ganja peddlers and seized 37 kg narcotic substance from their possession.
According to police, the accused were identified as PittalaKrupender(27), driver and Doola Srikanth (20), mason, both residents of Alwal, Secunderabad.
While patrolling in Devender Nagar on July 23, Sub-Inspector K Swamy intercepted an auto and found the accused persons in possession of five backpacks. Upon enquiry, they revealed that the backpacks contained ganja packets.
Immediately, the SI secured two mediators and recorded the confession of the accused and seized 20 packets of ganja weighing 37 Kgs. In 2016, Krupender, who was lodged in Vizag jail for some other crime, met ganja peddlers who were lodged in the same jail.
After being released from jail, Krupendermet one of the gang members and indulged in ganja smuggling.
