Man arrested for raping minor
A 22-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping a minor girl on the pretext of marrying her. The incident took place under Hayathnagar police station limits on July 31.

According to police, the accused S Ashok Goud (22), resident of Veera Bhadranagar colony and native of Mahbubabad befriended the victim, a 17-year-old girl working in a cloth store.
As their friendship grew, he made false promise of marrying her. On July 31, he took her to a movie for second show in Vanasthalipuram. While returning he booked a room in a nearby lodge and convinced her to stay during the night with him.
While reassuring her of marriage he raped her on that night. However, the next day he dropped her without her consent at Bommalagudi. After realising she made a complaint with the police that she was cheated.
The Hayathnagar police registered a complaint under sections 417, 376 IPC, Sec 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) 2012.
