Hyderabad: An 18-year-old girl student studying in a private college at Madhapur committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at her hostel room on Saturday. According to police, Y Aruna, hailing from Revulapally village, Dharur mandal of Gadwal district, who was undergoing long-term coaching for NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) in Madhapur’s Narayana branch, hanged herself using a chunni. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Her body was later shifted to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy. Earlier on August 9, an Intermediate student committed suicide due to alleged harassment by the management of Narayana college in Nagole under Hayath Nagar police station limits.

P Shravya (16), a resident of Valigonda, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, who was disturbed by the alleged harassment of the college management of Narayana branch in Nagole over payment of fees, took to extreme step by hanging then. Later, her father and other relatives blamed the college for her death and demanded police to arrest those who were responsible for harassing her.
