In a tragic incident, two brothers were killed and their mother suffered critical injuries after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in their house in Rayagiri village of Bhongir mandal in Yadadri district on Sunday midnight. The house almost collapsed due to the impact of explosion.

Bhongir: In a tragic incident, two brothers were killed and their mother suffered critical injuries after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in their house in Rayagiri village of Bhongir mandal in Yadadri district on Sunday midnight. The house almost collapsed due to the impact of explosion.

The deceased were identified Venat Reddy (55) and Prabhakar Reddy (45). Their injured mother, Gallamma (70), was shifted to Hyderabad’s Gandhi Hospital for better treatment.

Upon receiving information, Bhongir DCP Yadagiri rushed to the spot and enquired about the incident. After conducting preliminary investigation, the dead bodies were shifted to Bhongir Area hospital for post-mortem.

In the incident, two neighbours of Reddy’s also suffered minor injuries.Meanwhile, the DCP, on Monday, ruled out the collapse of house due to explosives and informed that it was purely a gas cylinder blast. Dog squad and clues team collected the evidences of cylinder blast, he added.

As part of investigation, police led by DCP visited the Gandhi Hospital and met Gallamma to collect information about the incident.

Meanwhile, Indane Gas Manager Venkat Reddy informed that family members of the deceased would get compensation from the company as per the norms.

It came to be known that, the children and wife of Prabhakar Reddy, who went to their grandmother’s house in Hyderabad for holidays, were saved from the blast.

Bhongir MLA Shekar Reddy visited the Rayagiri and enquired the villagers about the incident.
