Tribal couple electrocuted in Nalgonda
In a tragic incident, a tribal couple was electrocuted at Pandiri Kunta Thanda of Neredugomma mandal in the district on Wednesday.
Nalgonda: In a tragic incident, a tribal couple was electrocuted at Pandiri Kunta Thanda of Neredugomma mandal in the district on Wednesday.
The victims were identified as P Bitcha (65) and P Pallenki (60). According to locals and kin of the deceased, Pallenki who tried to dry clothes on a rope suffered an electric shock when she came in contact with a live wire.
Immediately, her husband Bitcha, who noticed her, tried to save her. However, he was also electrocuted. Both died on the spot.
With continuous rains, the clothes drying rope passing by the side of live wire became wet and without noticing it, Pallenki tried to dry the clothes and came in contact with the live wire.
After receiving information, Neredugomma police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to government hospital for post-mortem. Police filed a case and took up the investigation.
