Three kids of a family meet watery grave
Three children of a family were drowned in a tank at Papaiahpet village in Chennaraopet mandal of Warangal (Rural) district on Wednesday.
Warangal Rural: Three children of a family were drowned in a tank at Papaiahpet village in Chennaraopet mandal of Warangal (Rural) district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Gunjela Akhila (11), her brother Sai Kiran (9) and their cousin, Adhira Ajay (9). The tragic incident took place when Adhira Yadamma, the mother of Ajay, accompanied by the children went to Oracheruvu near the village to wash clothes, the police said.
According to reports, Rajesh, the brother of Akhila and Sai Kiran, first fell into the tank accidentally and Yadamma jumped into the water to save him. The other kids while trying to help her also fell into the water.
Yadamma managed to save Rajesh but could not save the others. She started shouting for help. But by the time the villagers rushed to the spot, the three children were drowned.
Chennaraopet police registered a case and investigation is on. The bodies were handed over to their parents after conducting post-mortem at Narsampet government hospital.
