Cab driver held for sexual harassment, stalking
The She Teams of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on Wednesday apprehended a cab driver on charges of sexual harassment and stalking. According to police, the accused was identified as K Shiva Kumar (22) of B N Reddy Nagar colony, working as an Ola cab driver.
Hyderabad: The She Teams of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on Wednesday apprehended a cab driver on charges of sexual harassment and stalking. According to police, the accused was identified as K Shiva Kumar (22) of B N Reddy Nagar colony, working as an Ola cab driver.
He was arrested by She team following a complaint filed by the victim alleging that he diverted from the normal route and started asking her personal questions and her contact details. As per the complaint, the victim during the morning hours on September 26, booked an Ola sharing cab from Gowlidoddy to Lingampally Railway Station.
After a while, when the other two fellow passengers got down, the driver started staring at her and asked her for her contact details and misbehaved with her. He diverted the route and got on to PVNR express way towards Shamshabad and when she questioned his intentions and shouted at him, he got out of the cab at Aramghar.
Suspecting his behaviour, she got down from the cab and returned home to Vanastalipuram by an auto rickshaw. Later, she registered a complaint with the help of She teams Whatsapp number 9490617111 and provided the driver’s phone number and cab registration number.
