Hyderabad: A four-month-old baby boy, who was abducted from his mother, who was sleeping on the pavement in Nampally, was rescued by the police.

According to the Nampally police, the infant, Faizan Khan, was sleeping beside his mother, Humera Begum, on the pavement in the wee hours of Thursday, when the abductors, identified as Mohammed Mustaq, 42, and Mohammed Yousuf, 25, took him away.

Police said Humera Begum, 21, a resident of Subhanpura, has been eking out a livelihood by seeking alms in Nampally. She sleeps on the pavement near Nampally Dargah every night, along with the baby.

Mustaq and Yousuf had watched this and abducted the child. Based on a complaint from Humera Begum, special teams were formed and with the help of CCTV footage, the abductors were nabbed. Police rescued the child and he was reunited with his mother by 2.30 pm on Thursday.
