Hyderabad: A 19-year-old girl, who was studying engineering in a private college, committed suicide allegedly due to ill-health.

According to Abdullahpurmet police, the deceased, K. Sirisha, resorted to the extreme step by consuming some unknown poison in the hostel room of her college on October 28. She was admitted to Osmania General Hospital where she died on Sunday night. She was a native of Dilawapur in Nalgonda district and was a first year student of B. Tech.

In another case, police on Monday retrieved the body of a 70-year-old woman from Saroornagar Lake. She was later identified as G. Rajamma, a resident of Srinivas Nagar Colony. She was reportedly suffering from ill-health and is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping into the lake on Sunday.

In a different case, P. Yadamma, 52, of Yousufguda, committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train on the tracks between Borabanda and Hitec City. Nampally Railway Police are investigating the case.
