The deceased, Shalini belonged to the Gundivagu village in Ichchoda mandal of Adilabad district.

She was set on fire by her mother-in-law, father-in-law, her brothers-in-law Ramesh, Sanjiv, Balaji, daughters-in-law Sulochana and Tanabai on April 13, 2015 blaming her for the death of her husband Pawar Masnaji, a BSF jawan.

Shalini married Masnaji in 2013 but her husband committed suicide in 2015.

Shalini who was accompanied by her mother and a constable went to her in-laws' place to get her possessions. Seeing her, the in-laws went into a rage and burnt her alive.

They even attacked the mother and constable who later filed a complaint following which a charge sheet was filed.

A total of 24 witnesses were examined.

The SC, ST Court on Monday has pronounced all the seven members of the family guilty and handed life sentence to them. A fine of Rs 20,500 has also been levied on each convict.
