​Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested five-member gang, who were allegedly involved in as many as 32 chain-snatching cases and recovered 800 grams of gold ornaments from their possession, here on Monday. Police also seized three motorcycles, which believed to be used for various offences.

The Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V Sajjanar said, “SK Saleem, the kingpin, was earlier arrested by Humayunagar police in a robbery case. He involved in as many as 180 snatching cases in the limits of Cyberabad, Rachakonda and Hyderabad Commissionrates, and PD Act was also invoked against him at Chikkadpally police station.”

The police teams were on the job to nab the notorious offenders since last one month, he said. A team led by N Chandrababu, Inspector of CCS, Shamshabad, worked out with the CCTV footage evidence and other sources. They identified the accused persons and kept a watch on them prior to the arrest, police said.

The accused were identified as SK Saleem alias Jaba Saleem (28), a car driver and resident of Malakpet, Syed Nazim Afroz (27), a resident of Mallapur, Mohd Salahuddin Khaleel (52), a resident of Vattepally, Falaknuma, Syed Jahangir (24), a Lab Reporter at Agriculture University, and Amul Kolekar (27), a resident of Shalibanda, Charminar.
