Hyderabad: The Balala Hakkula Sangam filed a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) seeking directions to arrest Gowlidoddi Social Welfare School’s principal and her husband in girl child molestation case here on Tuesday.

Speaking to The Hans India, honorary president of Balala Hakkula Sangam Achyuta Rao said, “The school principal should be booked as co-accused as she failed to protect the inmates. The principal is supposed to provide care and protection to the minor girls, and she had miserably failed to deliver her duty, being her husband a predator.”

On May 1, a case had been booked against Damodar, who is the husband of school principal Pramoda, for sexually abusing a ninth standard student. The accused had also sexually abused several other students, alleged the child rights activist.

“Damodar had links with politicians and top bureaucrats, using that links he is evading arrest,” alleged Achyuta Rao. However, Gachibowli Inspector M Gangadhar said, “We are working on the case, and formed teams to nab the accused. We will arrest him as soon as possible.”
