Woman plots father's murder due to fear of being sent out of his house

​Chennai: A 41-year-old woman and her husband planned to murder her father with the help of hired killers on Thursday, due to the fear of being sent out of her father's house.

Deivasigamani is a 62-year-old former merchant navy captain who lives at Washermenpet with Chitra, 45, who is his caretaker. He is a widower and is in a relationship with Chitra, who had been living in the house since she was a teenager. Deivasigamani's daughter Latha, 41, and her husband Babu, 45, were living in the same house as the officer.

The police said that Latha was apprehensive that she and her husband would be sent out of the house, and on that account schemed to kill her father.

On Thursday night, Deivasigamani was charged by a gang of eight men on two-wheelers who stabbed him using knives while he was seated outside his house.

A few neighbors came to his aid on hearing his cries. They rushed him to a hospital, and he has been admitted with several injuries.

Latha and her husband are being searched for by the police. A case has been filed and further investigations have commenced.
