Celestial marriage fete at Korukonda from today

Korukonda (East Godavari): The celestial marriage celebrations of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy would begin at Korukonda in East Godavari district on Saturday. Korukonda Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is the adapted temple of Annavaram Devasthanam. 'Radhotsavam' would begin at 2 pm and celestial marriage would take place at 9.30 pm on March 23. The Lord would be taken out in a procession on 'Garuda Vahanam' through the streets of Korukonda village as part of 'Gramotsavam' on March 24. The Swamy would be taken to the village on 'Anjaneya Vahanam' on March 25 and on 'Gaja Vahanam' on March 26. The celebrations would conclude on March 27 after performing 'Chakra Snanam', 'Vuyyala Seva', 'Adhala Seva' and a procession on 'Sesha Vahanam'. Rajanagam MLA Pendurthi Venkatesh would inaugurate the 'Radhotsavam' at 2 pm on Saturday. The police has made elaborate security arrangements under the aegis of North Zone DSP Muralimohan. Steps were also being taken to improve the sanitation in the area. A large number of devotees from all over the State were expected to take part in the celebrations.
