Hyderabad: The students of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology, Banjara Hills showcased their technological strength in the form of 75 highly innovative projects in “Adsophos - Engineering Projects Expo” to be held on February 11 and 12 at Ghulam Ahmed Auditorium of the college as a part of the annual student technical festival. Over 5000 engineering students from across the twin cities participated in the Expo.
The Expo was inaugurated by Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan, Chairman, Sultan Ul uloom Education Society, Md. Waliuallah, Vice Chairman SUES and Zafar Javeed, Hon. Secretary, SUES. Dr. Basheer Ahmed, Director, MJCET mentioned that the Research and development projects sponsored by SUES like Drones, 3D printers, Robots, Artificial Intelligence based projects, have paved way to a new technological revolution for the Engineering students.
Khan Lateef Khan appreciated Kaleshwaram Lift irrigation project model ,Smart City Layout Model and asked the students to submit a report on the same. Waliullah Sahab was pleased with the increasing participation of girls with innovative ideas. Zafar Javeed, Hon. Secretary, SUES was very impressed with the display of technical expertise and professionalism of the students and specially appreciated the Drones which where build with commercial precision and at one third the market price, He encouraged the students to apply for patents in this area.
The twelve projects on robotics displayed by ECE Department students specially the Industrial Robotic Arm, Maze Solver, Smart Suitcase and Serving Bot were highly impressive and attracted the attention of a large number of visitors. Dr. Ferhathullah Hussainy, Dean Student Affairs, mentioned that the Robocon team of MJCET which has designed a four legged autonomous robot, will be visiting IIT Delhi shortly, to compete in the Asia Pacific robotics competition called Robocon 2019.
The display of projects of CSE and IT department utilizing advanced concepts like machine learning, Artificial intelligence, Big data was noteworthy. The highly innovative EEE department projects of Hexacopter Drone, Stand alone Solar systems, IoT based projects were the highlight of the project expo. The Mechanical department projects of FMS system, Six legged Robot, Laser Engraver demonstrated the technical prowess of the students .
The Physics department displayed manufacturing of nano-glass and Chemistry department demonstrated biocompatible material fabrication. Dr. Mohammed Arifuddin Sohel, Head of ECE Department and Coordinator of the project expo mentioned that this year the students focus is shifting from simple project development to complex product development and commercialization.
