Hyderabad: Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad won the “Platinum” Digital India Award 2018 under “Outstanding Digital Initiative by a Local Body" category at Digital India Awards for its "Citizen Centric Integrated Services to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)". The award was given by the Union Minister for Electronics & IT and Law & Justice, Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi recently. CGG competed with 600 participating nominations and bagged this title.
The e Digital India Programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digital society and knowledge economy. The e digital India vision provides intensified impetus for further momentum and progress of digital-governance and would promote inclusive growth that covers electronic services, products, devices, manufacturing and job opportunities.
The Digital India Awards aim at encouraging Government entities, which have made significant contributions towards the implementation of e-Governance and shown an exemplary & innovative approach to achieve administrative efficiency and transparency. Since its inception, the Digital India Awards have seen four editions, beginning from 2010, and biennially being conferred in 2012, 2014, and 2016. The Digital India Awards over the years have honoured various government departments which have done exemplary work. Over the years the categories have also been aligned with the latest trends in the field of technology.
Speaking on the occasion Rajendra Nimje, Director General, CGG Hyderabad said “This award is a validation of the stupendous growth that CGG has made especially over the past two years.
Accordingly, CGG was bestowed with the highly Prestigious “Platinum” Digital India Award. CGG has been the technical partner of GHMC since 2014 and is involved in its process re-engineering for digital transformation and in delivering enhanced value to its citizens through the effective use of ICT. CGG is implementing a multitude of innovative cum path-breaking initiatives. CGG continue to develop innovative solutions for its User Departments to equip them with the best and latest technology as they implement and roll out their organisation’s next-generation strategy”.
