The Common Entrance Test (CET) committee, the apex body for conducting all the admission tests including the EAMCET will hold a crucial meet on Tuesday to finalise all issues regarding the EAMCET. The details of EAMCET notification are also likely to be announced soon after the meeting, which is to be held at JNTU-Hyderabad.

The EAMCET was scheduled to be held on May 17 with the same format and weightage of marks. Earlier, the AP State Higher Education Council declared that the notification would be issued on February 10 and the results will be out on June 2.
But the general elections, likely to be held in May this year, cast a shadow on the crucial engineering and medical admission test and the Council has already indicated that the dates will be altered subject to the schedule of the elections in the states. This is precisely because there will be clash of centres in most of the towns since the colleges or schools would be turned into polling booths. Manpower and security shortage were also cited as reasons.
The dates of other CETs i.e. ICET, which will be held on May 23, ECET on May 10; Ed CET on June 2; LAWCET and PGLCET on June 6; PGECET from May 26 to 29 and PECET on May 5- may also be changed, as pert the schedule of the elections. The POLYCET (Polytechnic entrance test), which will be held on May 21, may meet the same fate.
The CET committee will also discuss and ratify the changes proposed by a panel of experts with regard to putting the OMR sheets on the website. Trying to bring more transparency in EAMCET examination structure, the AP State Council of Higher Education has earlier decided to put all the OMR answer sheets on the website after the results are declared.
The meeting will also likely to finalise the counseling schedule. “Our effort is to stick on to the apex court deadline of July 31. We will finalise all the aspects by that time. The fee structure of each college will also be announced along with the counselling schedule. The rankers will have a choice of choosing their preferred college and the details of the earlier rank and the remaining seats in that particular college will be displayed on Board well in advance” a top official of the Council told The Hans India.
The fee talks are already underway and the AFRC has been in the process of finalising the structure of nearly 200 colleges which had not submitted their data earlier.
