Girls Gear Up For Day One Of College. Sanober Tumbi, an aspiring chef who has newly enrolled herself in Culinary Academy of India is all excited about her first day on campus.

What girls plan to wear:

Sanober Tumbi, an aspiring chef who has newly enrolled herself in Culinary Academy of India is all excited about her first day on campus. She has decided to go floral. She has zeroed upon a floral frock and will pair it up with a white legging. A pair of flip-flops and minimal jewelry (a thin chain), she thinks will go well along with the dress. She has also embraced a new look by getting a layer cut done for her hair.

Seher Hashim, a BCom Professional student of St Francis College for Women, Hyderabad, has decided to dress herself in a cream colour top and has paired it up with red jeans. She has recently bought closed shoes which will go with her dress. She will be wearing a kada or a bangle and a new watch she has bought recently.

Ruhi Tumbi from Amity University, a true style freak, says she is matching her belt, bag and footwear. For day one of her college, the MBA student, has decided to wear a checked t-shirt and jeans, which she thinks will go with the season. She plans to wear orangeish flip flop and a peach sling bag.

Designers say:

“Back to college is a time to impress without looking like you’re trying too hard. Instead of the basic jeans and tee look that most girls favour, try wearing a tank top with slouchy boyfriend jeans with a vest or blazer over it. Plaid is always very in for college students but try it with a twist this time. Instead of the obvious plain shirt, wear a plain dress or pants or get a plain backpack. With accessories, make sure you don’t overdo anything. You can never go wrong with nice headbands that are embellished or printed. They’re fun and subtle. If you want a change in shoes, then ditch the flip-flops and try working a contrast with edgy brogues,” says Priyanka Chigurupati, founder and designer at Chigurupati.

Shravan, city designer says, “Warm colours like orange and red are the colours of the season. Transparent bags and similar stuff have come in. Zip lock bags preferring are in and so are oversized clothes.”
