Gitam Engineering Admissions Begin. Online counselling for admission into B Tech and B Pharmacy courses in the Gitam University commenced in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. G Subrahmanyam handed over the admit cards to the selected candidates on the first day and most of the students opted for mechanical, ECE, computer science engineering and information technology branches in B Tech. The admissions are based on the ranks obtained in the Admission Test 2014 and the first 5,000 rank holders were called for counselling on the first day. The vacancy position in each of the nine branches of B Tech and B Pharmacy was displayed on LCD screens simultaneously at all the centres. The counselling would continue till June 16. Counselling for admission into M Tech and M Pharmacy courses would be held on June 18, admissions director K Narendra said.
While interacting with students and their parents, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Subrahmanyam informed that the university was giving priority for providing industrial exposure to the students. Experts from industry take up classes and provide practical exposure to the students.
He said that the university has entered MoUs with some foreign universities for academic collaborations and industries like steel plant, HPCL, Erricson India, TCS, HCL and IBM.
