Social media blamed the Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma for distracting her boyfriend Virat Kohli, the top-order Indian batsman, from playing well in the semi-final match against Australia in the World Cup 2015. Virat Kohli dismissed his detractors stressing that Anushka was not responsible for his abysmal performance in the match, and that she was not a distraction to him!

We need to distract ourselves from unpleasant situations and conditions to rather pleasurable and pleasant situations and conditions. People try to distract themselves from bad habits by staying with the family or pursuing hobbies.
