Sportspersons exult when they win: tennis player may throw the racquet in the air, cricketer may kiss the ground.You may reach an exalted position with your hard work or luck or both.


Exalt means make somebody higher in rank or position or elevating someone in a hierarchical set up; exalt also means to praise someone or something. Political followers or chamchas exalt their bosses. Political pundits are wondering who would be removed from the Cabinet by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and who among the MPs and junior ministers would be exalted.


Pranab Mukherjee was exalted to the position of President of India by the Congress party in which he was the senior most.Exalt is a verb but exalted is an adjective. Like politicians aspiring to become the Prime Minister of the country, bureaucrats aspire to achieve the exalted position of Cabinet Secretary. His behavior changed after he assumed the exalted position.

Exult means getting happiness from something; celebrating something with great happiness; rejoicing greatly; exultant is an adjective; exultantly is an adverb and exultation is a noun meaning great happiness or rejoicing.
