Aerospace engineering at GITAM University
The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, which was established in the year 2011 at GITAM University’s Hyderabad off-campus, has now been renamed as Aerospace Engineering from the current academic year. “An aerospace engineering degree involves turning ideas into reality by applying the principles of science and technology to the research, design, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft, missiles and space satellites.

Aerospace engineering careers range from airframe design, wind-tunnel testing, engine design and testing and flight testing of new vehicles, to the design airliner cabin comfort systems,” said Prof Siva Prasad, Director of GITAM School of Technology. The department of aerospace engineering has good facilities.
Apart from conventional equipments, the department has recently acquired a Boeing 737-200 simulator, hull of an aircraft, aircraft shell, aero-engine, aircraft components and fighter aircraft airframe for hands-on experience. For more details, visit www.gitam.edu.
