Bangalore, India / Lagos, Nigeria: NIIT, a global leader in skills and talent development today announced the 16th National Scholarship, 2015 in Nigeria, to enhance employability of students desirous of building successful careers in today’s knowledge economy. Introduced in the year 2000 the National scholarship by NIIT has become a much anticipated annual event in the country and has been availed by 1.6 million students since inception.

NIIT has been present in Nigeria for over 15 years and has played a pioneering role in providing support to the youth of the country desirous of building great career in IT industry.The scholarship provides assistance to students across various disciplines- school leavers, under graduates, graduates (unemployed, under-employed) and individuals keen to enhance their technical skill-sets, and students in general who aspire to know about IT and careers in IT.

With an aim to create manpower for the Nigerian IT industry, NIIT offers various cutting edge programs to the students in Nigeria. The revolutionary career program - Mastermind Series mapped to international certification, enables students to get skilled for global career opportunities, through training in technology courses. The Mastermind series comprise Software Engineering and Infrastructure Management courses. While the Software Engineering course will expose the student to technologies like Office 2013, Java 7, Visual Studio 2012, SQL Server 2012, ASP.net, MVC 4.5, HTML 5, JQuery, Java Script, the Infrastructure Management course will enable students to learn Office 2013, Windows Server 2012, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft Share Point 2013.

Apart from these courses, various rapid employability and career enhancement programs are also offered by NIIT. Key technologies acquired during the course includes tracks like 12C, MS Server 2012, Jelly Bean, Kit-Kat, Oracle, CCNA & CCNP, A+ & N+, Web Design & Development, Graphic Designing, MIS, and Project Management etc.
