Hyderabad: Cambridge English Language Assessment (part of the University of Cambridge) hosted a discussion on communication skills in Hyderabad. The event witnessed principals from schools and colleges, and educationalists across the city coming together to discuss the challenges in creating efficient workforce.

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion for academics conducted by Angela French, Director of Operations, South Asia, Cambridge English Language Assessment, together with representatives from the education sector. Speakers highlighted the impact of communication skills on recruitment prospects and career growth, as well as long term organizational success.

They also focused on the need for clear industry standards which would set tangible targets for students, and for the educational world to assess the current relevance of their curricula. All delegates were called upon to introspect on the assigning of responsibilities for improved training and evaluation – to be shared by both Industry and Academia.

Cambridge English also showed how the team is increasing its efforts to raise awareness of the need for Indian industries to adopt internationally accepted standards in English Language Communication and for schools, colleges and universities to make provision for appropriate training to ensure learners reach their full potential. Cambridge English also drew comparisons with challenges and successes in different parts of the world.
