Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman Prof T Papi Reddy, who announced the results at a press conference in TSCHE office here, said in all 57,775 candidates appeared and out of them, 57,720 qualified the test accounting to 99.4 per cent pass percentage.

Going by the subject-wise results, 99.96 per cent candidates qualified in Mathematics, 99.77 per cent in Physical Sciences, 99.61 per cent in Biological Sciences, 98.25 per cent in Social Studies and 99.36 per cent in English.

“There are no qualifying marks for SC and ST candidates in all the streams and also there is no cut off mark for women in Physical Sciences and Mathematics courses, so that we can fill the quota,” said Prof Padala Prasad, Convener, TS-EdCet.

K Srinivasa Chary of Ranga Reddy district topped Mathematics stream, G Krishna Sai of Karimnagar in Physical Sciences, P Kamala of Ranga Reddy district in Biological Sciences, M Krishna Kanth of Nalgonda bagged the first rank in social studies, Parvathi KNL of Hyderabad in English stream.

Prof Reddy said all universities would be consulted before issuing counselling schedule. TSCHE chairman informed that there were 25,000 seats available in about 250 BEd colleges in the State.

Candidates can download the rank cards from July 1 and counselling dates would be announced in the first week of July. In the wake of formation of new State of Telangana, the Osmania University has been entrusted to conduct the examination.
