Ganta faults Kadiyam over Eamcet records. Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Sunday advised Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari not to make wrong statements in regard to the handing over of the EAMCET records to AP.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Sunday advised Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari not to make wrong statements in regard to the handing over of the EAMCET records to AP.

Addressing a press conference while releasing the supplementary results of second year Intermediate examination, Ganta said: “I am ready to come wherever and whenever the TS government was willing to hand over the files.”

Ganta said despite several attempts made by his state, Srihari did not abide by his promise that was made in the presence of Governor E S L Narasimhan on handing over of the files. It was with a great difficulty that the “first phase of Eamcet counselling has been carried out,” he said.

Later, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Prof L Venugopala Reddy told the media that they could give approvals to BEd, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy and other courses due to the action of the TS. Even giving approvals to the management quota seats in engineering colleges too has been affected, he said.

Following Supreme Court’s interim direction on the existence of the APSCHE on May 13, the AP minister said: “We had written a letter to the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and the Telangana government to handover the premises of APSCHE.

As a follow up to this, the state higher education secretary had met the Telangana State chief secretary as well as the principal secretary of Higher Education on May 19 seeking handing over of files and other issues. Also, we had informed on the same day that the APSCHE constituted a four-member committee and intimated that same to the TSCHE and the TS government based on the outcome of the meeting on May 13.”

On May 26, the AP HRD minister met the Governor informing that the TS had not complied with the directions of the apex court. On the same day, higher education ministers of both states met in the presence of the Governor and it was concluded in handing over of files, Venugopala Reddy said.

After the above meeting, the AP higher education secretary wrote a letter to the TS principal secretary to constitute a four-member committee for segregation of records and to hand over the same to the APSCHE.

The TSCHE chairman had informed his AP counterpart that a four-member committee has been constituted and ‘preferable dates in consultation with him for segregating and handing over the records and files would be intimated soon. But so far, they had not intimated the date and time,’ he said.
