The need for 5 day week is felt more among children in the cities and it does equally good for those in rural areas too as childhood is a precious time for all and we as adults do not have any right to rob it. The exposure to air pollution while travelling between school and home and the wastage of the most precious resource Time in commuting for 6 day a week, adds unnecessary pressure to the tender minds.

I know it might be a policy decision of DAV as a group but as a parent I wish to request you to share this as a feedback from a parent to your Management and make efforts to declare 5 day schooling soon.

Particularly for the children in +1 & 2 the 5 day schooling helps them prepare for the entrance exams for professional courses after +2. My daughter I. Krishna, +2 class who has been your student since 2005 is the best reason behind making this request. I found her feeling the pain and pressure for doing assignments given in the school and preparing for the tests in Aakash where she is getting the coaching for Medical Entrance exam. Actually she has no time to speak to me too!!

I feel that we as adults have been subjecting our children to this kind of unnatural ways of learning. It is obvious that there is no joy for the children in this kind of schooling as it is resulting in robbing their precious time in their formative years. Please do your best to change this unhealthy system of schooling at least in the DAV Institutions in the country. Strangely there is no email id of any significant few in the DAV managment committee that was shared, nor it was there for any parent to write to the DAV the only email available was: [email protected]
I found the facebook page of DAV (https://www.facebook.com/DAVUNIV) and posted this letter as a message and a comment there.

We as adults need to influence the education system to become more healthy, joyful and natural. Already some generations of children cursed us and some are cursing us for allowing the education as a commercial commodity. The current education system created divisions among students like those from CBSE, ICS, State Syllabus, etc. We have done enough damage and it is time to change. God knows what our MoHR and GoI are doing in this regard.
