National Institute of Open Schooling(NIOS) is an autonomous organization under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, promoting education through Open and Distance mode of learning up to Senior Secondary level (Class XII) to those who cannot attend conventional school for a variety of socio-economic reasons, as well as to those who missed opportunities to complete school and Developmental education Apart from Academic, it offers 101 Vocational Courses to the learners.

It is a board on par with CBSE & ICSE and is recognized all over the world. Education through NIOS is a great advantage for dropouts, house wives / ladies / educationally backward youth / SC / ST/ differently able persons and minorities as it provides fee concession, flexible curriculum and admission throughout the year.

NIOS facilitates learning through study centers and online process. The Study centers play a vital role in teaching –learning process being the Face of NIOS.

The coordinator (Principal /vice principal/senior most Teacher) of the accredited institution being in charge of NIOS programmes interacts regularly with learners, parents and community. He/she counsels the learners and guide for career development.

NIOS pays remuneration of RS.500/ per student to the study center for conducting PCP classes. Above all the study center serves the society by imparting education to under privileged sections and thus contributes for national Development.

In order to advocate NIOS programmes among minorities/minority institutions, NIOS is going to organize Advocacy Meeting in association with Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA) on 28th July, 2015 at Urdu Maskan, Khaja Shoo Hall Telangana State Urdu Academy, Motigalli, Khilwath.Hyderabad The participants will be briefed about the NIOS programmes, initiatives and achievements and modalities to start study centers (AIs&AVIs) The participants will gain awareness about NIOS structure n functionaries. It is an effort to take NIOS programmes to unreached sections of the society.
