The four day long inter-school event which was attended by 1400 school children over 14 countries and 50 different cities across the globe will conclude on August 16. Speaking at the conference Nandita Das said , "Harvard Model United Nations conferences are a great tool for enhancing one's personality, public speaking skills, intellect, and diplomacy along with adding to one's knowledge of world politics. The mention of a model United Nations conference in one's resume holds great importance".


Continuing on, she said "We are all born in certain parts of the world and may have different physical or cultural characteristics but the whole world is one big family. It is our duty to know about the issues and difficulties people face in various parts of the globe. We should try finding a solution to them", she added.


The actress and social activist said that the prime road block for world's development is mindset and it has to be changed to accept the changes happening in the world. Despite best laws, we still have disparities even in the developed nations. It is only one generation that brings all the difference to the world and let it start with your generation, Nandita Das said addressing the school children.


Another speaker during the event , Cyndia B Yu, Secretary General HMUN and a member of the organizing team opined that in an era where people are turning commercial, Model United Nations conferences have taken a step to educate the youth. “Our motto is 'where idealism comes to reality'. Hence, we strive to provide the best educational conference for our delegates. We have provided the platform to educate today's youth with issues concerning the world’ he concluded.
