Eco Cart designed by GITAM students

Hyderabad: Engineering students of GITAM University designed an ‘Eco Cart’ under the GITAM University Science and Activity Centre (GUSAC).
GITAM School of Technology Director N Siva Prasad inaugurated the ‘Eco Cart’ at the college campus in Hyderabad on Thursday and appreciated the efforts of the team members.
This ‘Eco Cart’ runs by the energy of four 12 volts batteries with the support of an alter which addresses the fluctuation, team leader P Sarath Kumar explained.
“Some components, alloy wheels and the twelve HP motor were imported through online with subsidy rates,” he added. “It is a must that you wear seat belt to run this Eco Cart, otherwise the car will stop.
Similarly, we designed a ‘killer switch’ to avoid accidents. Once we press the ‘killer switch’ all parts in the car stop func- tioning,” Sarath explained.
