Hyderabad: GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students designed ‘Automation of Unman Railway Crossing’ to prevent accidents.

GITAM School of Technology Director Prof. N.Siva Prasad formally inaugurated the device at GITAM Science and Activities Centre (GUSAC) on October 14th.

He appreciated the efforts of the B.Tech. Final Year students and advised them to become entrepreneurs by producing such devices.

Under the leadership of V.Shakthi Priyan, S.Sai Kumar, S.J.Sameer, G.M.Aparna, B.Monaja and T.Sushmitha have developed this device after a tragic incident at Masaipet of Medak District in the last year.

“The device was displayed in front of South Central Railway higher officials and technical head. As per their advice it was tested in Railway Signaling and Training School (RSTS) at Moula-Ali.

We have modified the device as per advice of RSTS team. Finally we bought this final output” the team leader Shakthi Priyan explained.

“The device can work with 5 volts electricity. It can erect at any remote place with the solar panel. Even the 4th Class employee also can replace the spoiled device with the new one” the team members were explained.

GUSAC coordinator Dr. Trinadha Rao also participated in the inauguration and told that, they have been encouraging the students to take research projects under GUSAC.
