A gamut of events kept nearly 500 students from across 26 engineering colleges (including CBIT, Deccan College of Engineering and Technology, CMR, Vardhaman, Geetanjali, MallaReddy, Methodist, Mahaveer, etc.)

busy in projecting creative intel and innovative construction ideas - from decoding the working principles of metro rail to urban transportation and smart commuting.

Transforming waste into constructive material, creative computer aided designs, spot photography and poster and paper presentation were the dominant agenda. Miniature models of smart cities supporting concepts of sustainable development were also on exhibit.

According to Fazal and Ibrahim, “Smart Infr-Est is a vibrant platform for students to showcase their intellectual dynamism and contribute in building better structures and societies.”

Through this fest, we can also instil awareness among the civil engineering students about building truly smart buildings that make optimum use of design, construction and occupancy, and Smart Infra-Est is our first-step towards that,” adds Ahmed, whose startup Excelsior helped to organise the maiden edition of the fest in the city.
