Over 1500 kids aged 7 to 12 showcased their computing skills by solving about 230 mathematical problems in eight minutes at the ‘Regional Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition’ at Ramoji Film City on Sunday. The winner of the event, which was organised by SIP Academy India, will participate in the National Competition that will be held in Noida in November.

Dinesh Victor seen opening question paper also seen in the picture Uma SwaminathanAddressing the gathering after the competition, Jayesh Ranjan IT Secretary informed that Bharti Foundation by Airtel has been in talks with the State Government to introduce ‘IT Skills Education’ in the state from ninth grade onwards. “However, nothing is finalised yet,” he added. He shared that Ankit Fadia, well known cyber security expert, is likely to be appointed as the ‘Cyber Security Advisor’ for the state.

Children seen participating in SIP Abacus Mental ArthameticUma Swaminathan, state head AP of SIP Academy India Pvt Ltd, remarked, “Competitions like these not only help to showcase talent of children but also prepares them for the tough competitions in future.” Among others who graced the event include Dinesh Victor, Managing Director of SIP Academy Pvt Ltd, Simple Dayama, Principle of Slate School and Kalpana, Principle of Siddharth Public School.
