Telugu students across Tamil Nadu launched a rally protesting against the Government's rule to make learning Telugu language mandatory in schools. Protesting against the Government's rule, the Telugu speaking students staged dharnas demanding the Government to withdraw its decision.
The Government had passed orders lifting of Telugu language from several educational boards and also ordered to hold exams in Tamil.Several students requested the parties from AP and Telangana to mount pressure on the Tamil Nadu government led by Jayalalitha to continue the old system.
