While the registrations for the JEE Main 2016 had started by this time last year, the JEE exam process is behind schedule as the notification JEE Main 2016 has seen a delay and is likely to be released in the third week of this month. The exam is expected to be held in the first week of April and the dates are set to be finalized soon.

On the other hand, the Joint Admission Board declared that JEE Advanced will be held on May 22 next year. Also, reforms in the JEE exam system are in the pipeline but will not be implemented at least for another year as there is little time left for the students to adjust, hence, the Centre has decided against any large-scale changes in JEE 2016.

The only change to be witnessed this year is that two lakh students will be selected from JEE Main whereas earlier, 1.5 lakh students were selected and the notices for the same have been issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The notifications are expected to be issued in third week of November and registrations will take place till the end of December.
