Starting from this academic year, students in Model Schools will be given vocational training in various trades. The government has introduced trades in two or three Model Schools in each district totalling to 20 schools across the State. Courses like automobile, beauty and wellness, security, IT/ITES and retailing trades will be introduced in Class X.

Hyderabad: Starting from this academic year, students in Model Schools will be given vocational training in various trades. The government has introduced trades in two or three Model Schools in each district totalling to 20 schools across the State. Courses like automobile, beauty and wellness, security, IT/ITES and retailing trades will be introduced in Class X.

Each course period will be for a period of two years. In this regard, the government which sent a team to study Haryana State to study and understand the pilot project under national skill qualification framework and has submitted a report. Based on the report, a road map was prepared for implementation of the courses in the schools.

According to the officials in the Directorate of School Education only selected and interested students will be enrolled. The principals will enroll students after orientation to the students and parents. The evaluation and certification would be done by the National Skill Development Corporation.
