Jubilee Hills Public school, hosted ‘Adhyayan’ – a knowledge fest from November 16 to 21, 2015 in order to inculcate reading habits and hone the creative skills of the students. Throughout the week many competitions like rhyme depiction, story-telling, debate cum panel discussion and book review were conducted for various classes.

Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills Public school, hosted ‘Adhyayan’ – a knowledge fest from November 16 to 21, 2015 in order to inculcate reading habits and hone the creative skills of the students.

Throughout the week many competitions like rhyme depiction, story-telling, debate cum panel discussion and book review were conducted for various classes.

A special assembly was conducted on November 20. The children of Pre-Primary and Primary welcomed everybody and emphasised on the importance of reading in the form of poem. The dance performances were mesmerising. The Academic Director, G Sree Devi, explained the difference between studying and reading.

She said “Reading is for pleasure and knowledge. Studying is fun too, but it is tested.” The children were asked to relate the characters from the books they read to known people which helps them in enhancing the vocabulary and retention and children were motivated to become good readers. Riddles were asked and children were very prompt in answering. Prizes were distributed to the winners as a mark of appreciation.
