The NorthCap University, Gurgaon held its Scholarship and Fee Concession Distribution Ceremony on 16 December 2015. The University awarded these scholarships on merit and means basis to deserving students. Prof. Dr. Ranbir Singh, President of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Vice-Chancellor, National Law School, Delhi was the Chief Guest at the event. Other luminaries present at the event included the Pro-Chancellor of NCU, Prof. Prem Vrat and the Pro Vice Chancellor Brig(Retired) S.K Sharma. 222 students benefitted out of this scholarship distribution.
The University has been giving scholarships and fee concessions to its students every year. The meritorious students pursuing B. Tech, M. Tech and doctorate from the university have been awarded with these scholarships and fee waivers. This year the college has given fee waivers to 5 students from the economically weaker section.

While addressing the students Prof. Dr. Ranbir Singh, President of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Vice-Chancellor, National Law School, Delhi said “Institutions are distinguished from the other due to their discipline, NCU has emerged as an institute which has imbibed discipline in all its virtues.” Further talking about the need of team spirit among Indians. He stressed on the fact that Indians though are wonderful individually, they lack the skill of working in a team. The ultimate aim of education should be to inculcate the spirit to work for the gain of society above self-interest”

Brig. S.K Sharma (Retired), Pro Vice Chancellor, The Northcap University said, “NCU has seen a steady increase in the number of scholarships which as an institute is encouraging for us and we are committed towards sustaining this effort and imparting quality education.” He further added that, “despite all the good work that private educational institutions are doing, it is always the Government Universities that are considered superior. Private institutions are doing a lot of advancement in the educational field and it is time they get recognition for their work.”

Anurag Vats,(B.Tech) one of the beneficiaries of fee waiver said, “Post my father’s demise it has been very difficult for us to make the ends meet. Our home runs on the Pension of my grandfather and the little money that my mother makes by working as an Anganwadi worker. I am thankful to the University for providing me the fee waiver, it is a great help for me. I want to complete my education at the earliest and get a well-paying job so that my mother is not forced to work.”
