METALLON 2016 at MGIT
The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology organised a 2-day national level technical conference- METALLON 2016 -during December 30-31 at the institute premises.
Hyderabad: The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology organised a 2-day national level technical conference- METALLON 2016 -during December 30-31 at the institute premises.
As a part of this, eminent speakers from the Academia, Industries, and Research Centers delivered Talks on Advanced Steels for Strategic Applications. The audience was consisting of the Faculty Members from the Academic Institutions, Engineers from the Industry, Scientists from the Research and Development and Students from MGIT and other Institutes like JNTUH and RGUKT.
Professor G Chandra Mohan Reddy, Principal, MGIT welcomed the audience. Sri D Kamalakar Reddy, Secretary and Correspondent, MGIT has addressed the gathering and presided over the function. The Chief Guest, Professor C. Suryanarayana, University of Central Florida, USA addressed the gathering and explained the significance of steel in strategic sector.
The Guest of Honour, Dr D K Likhi, CMD, MIDHANI, Hyderabad informed the audience about the scenario of the Steel Industry in India and abroad. Dr. K Bhanusanka Rao, Ministry of Steel Chair Professor, MGIT, Professor J Viplava Kumar, Sri P K Subramanian, Head of the Department, and Sri PVSL Narayana, Convever, METALLON 2016 were also among the dignitaries who addressed the gathering.
Guru Pooja amid Vedic Chant to all the Speakers was performed by the Students of the Department. A good number of students from various other Institutions have participated in the competitions .
