Hyderabad: Thomas Cook Travel Quest, India’s first national travel quiz for schools, hosted its second season in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Schools in the city encouraged their students in an overwhelming number to participate in the Travel Quest Quiz; the auditorium was packed with an excited audience of over 1000 students, along with them were teachers who were encouraging the students and the parents were also seen cheering for their children.

The programme extensively covered students from 150 educational institutions across Hyderabad. The quiz was open to students from Class VI to IX, over 1000 students from various schools in the city participated in the qualifier round. The students kept cheering the three teams (Syed Hashmi and Hussain Ahmed from Little Flower School, Abids; Abhinav and Sresht from Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet; Manish and Vikram from Teja Vidyalaya) which took part in the city finals, with great enthusiasm.

The competition was intense; the students participated with great zeal. Syed Hashmi and Hussain Ahmed from Little Flower School, Abids, were declared as the winners, confirming an entry to the south zonal finals which will be held this year. The two students of Hyderabad city finals also get an experiential study tour to Malaysia.

Madhavan Menon, Managing Director, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. said, “With over 50 per cent of India under the age of 25 years , the Travel Quest quiz aims to serve by introducing a vibrant approach to learning.” The event was hosted by quiz-master Giri Pickbrain, who enthralled the crowd and kept the students engaged all through the show.
