What does a man require?

Similarly, in today’s materialistic world of cut-throat competition, we run after money and, in this mad pursuit, we trample underfoot all our values.
Money or happy or peace or a good life?

Similarly, in today’s materialistic world of cut-throat competition, we run after money and, in this mad pursuit, we trample underfoot all our values. Man today has not been able to overcome his greed for money, though he fully knows that he cannot take his money with him when he lives this world.
Money is that a major catalyst for economic transactions in the world. Its magic power draws everyone like a magnet. A man with money is considered influential. Money cannot by happiness or contentment. Money is not a solution for peace. A rich person is generally tense and insecure, they cannot enjoy the simple pleasures.
The secret of a happy life thus lies in the implication of our wants and a calm and collected attitude towards life. An ordinary human being requires is a reasonable standard of living, a roof over his head, two square times meals a day for himself and his family, education. William Ernest Henley says:
I am the master of my face;
I am the captain of my soul.
In order to have a peace he must have a goal to achieve and he must work single-mindedly for achieving that goal. He must overcome failures. The only way to come out of any problem is to solve it.
The unassailable fact of life is “If there is no pain, there is no gain”. In this world, there is no situation of something for nothing. If you do nothing you get nothing effort alone yields results.
Thiruvalluvar says” “Effort will increase wealth, lack of which will bring poverty.”
A good life is not which is completely filled with happiness. A good life is not which contains of a lot of money. Sir Albert Einstein says” It is not that, I am so smart; it is just that, I stay with problems longer. “The secret of success of Einstein was that he took action and stayed longer. It’s not that some people have will power and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and others are not.
Effort only releases its reward after a person refuses to quit. Life is queer, with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns.
