Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad conducted an Entrepreneurship Conclave, Ortus 4.0 today at its campus. The theme of the conclave was: “What India holds for buzzing start-up space? Will it stay and sustain?” The discussion was organized by ‘Prarambh- The Entrepreneurship Cell’ of IMT Hyderabad which focusses on fostering entrepreneurship spirit among budding business enthusiasts.

Five renowned and seasoned entrepreneurs from varied industries and backgrounds participated in the discussion. Dr. Satish Ailawadi, Director, Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad moderated the discussion. The panellists included Mr. Sirish Kumar Ravula, Director, RA Chem Pharma; Mr. Ravi Devulapally, Co-founder & CEO, Edvanta Solutions; Mr. Nayan Kumar, Co-founder, Voilet Street; Mr. Manu Sreenivasan, MD, Wektra Familty Office; Mr Sai Shekhar, Journalist.

The panellists discussed about the qualities, skills, passion and innovative ideas that an aspiring entrepreneur must possess so as to attain success. The other factors which affect the growth and sustainability of emerging start-ups in India like, correct ecosystem, supportive government policies, academic-industry cooperation and Indian pride were also mentioned during the discussion. The panellists also highlighted the focus, passion, vision, respect for money and its value and team work that an ambitious entrepreneur must have in order to be successful.

The panellists provided insights on the current situation of start-ups in India and also their sustainability in the future. They discussed about the emergence of employment opportunity in businesses earlier from public sector to private sector and now finally to start-ups that has occurred in India over a span of years. It was concluded that start-ups are going to sustain in India. Setting-up of incubation centres is very important step that academic institutes and government must focus on to promote start-ups.

The students were told about the importance of maintaining a balance between work and entertainment. The panellists also focussed on the significance of gaining experience and exposure to the real business situations before one plans to start their own business. It was concluded that only people with correct mental framework, clarity of thoughts and ideas, passion to convince other people and respect for the value of money can succeed and become successful entrepreneurs.
