“In current scenario, the generation next or Y-generation has less knowledge about agriculture. Agriculture is a prime sector in our country. It provides the essential and important of all – the food to us. It determines the performance of our economy, ensures food availability and nutritional security, creates rural employment and boosts income. Agriculture should be seen as an ideal, noble and desirable profession by young people.

Currently there are many technology graduates who also are turning to agriculture and doing their bit in best possible way. Such initiatives are required more in numbers,” said Dr P Chandrasekhar Rao, Dean of Agriculture, Professor Jayshankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU). “This course provided a very resourceful and practical learning,” said, S Tirupathi, from Karimnagar district, who won the Best Trainee in Crop Production Award.
