Hyderabad: A three-day technical fest, ‘Convergence2k16’ was inaugurated at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology on Monday at its campus in Bachupally. The fest gives students an opportunity to showcase their innovations. The best projects will be given support to develop them further.

Dr Deepak Garg, Chair, IEEE Computer Soceity, India Council, was the chief guest at the event. He said that the budding engineers should take advantage of disasters, disruptions in the market to grow in life. “The Technology is growing fast and the students should be adept with the new changes. They should also use their intelligence to be successful,” he added.

Dr T Kishen Kumar Reddy, Professor & Rector, JNTUH and Chairman ISTE, Telangana State Chapter, said that the country is producing more engineers than required. “The employability is not more than 10 per cent and in the state it is less than 15 per cent,” he highlighted. “In this scenario the students should think differently and think of establishing their own start ups,” he said. The President, Vignana Jyothi, Dr DN Rao said that the thinking of the present student community is changing for good.
