Atheist is a person who believes there is no god, there is no deity, there no forms that have a meaning to believe in God. Atheist is a non-theist. The derivatives of the noun atheist are atheistic, atheistical (adjective: belong to an atheist, or atheism), atheistically (adverb), atheisticalness and atheism (noun).
Atheism is a belief in the non-existence of deity, ungodliness, and its obsolete meaning is wickedness. Verbs also exists referring to an atheist or atheism: atheize, atheizes, atheized, atheizing. Theist is a person who believes in that there is a god, there are gods, belief that there is a creative force operating in the world.
Theism is the belief in the existence of a god (monotheism: religions that have only one god), or gods (polytheism: religions that have many gods, and goddesses, like Hinduism). Theism is a belief in god especially a God revealed to man as the creator, as the ruler of the universe. The derivatives of theism are theistic, theistical (adjectives), and theistically (adverb).
Mahatma Gandhi was a staunch believer in God. He believed, and practised Hinduism but also strove for secularism to exist in the world, and particularly in a diverse society like India. He was unequivocal in stating that religion and politics could be combined for the greater good. He was of the belief that a theistic person (Hindu or Christian or Muslim) can make a good politician because he or she would have had understood the essence of a religion: all are equal, and humanity can be served which is nothing but a service to the god to attain heaven or liberation or moksha or nirvana.
Agnostic is a person who believes neither in the existence of god or deity nor in its non-existence. Agnostic is a neutral person: may be god is there, may be god is not there. An agnostic person is doubtful about the existence of God or deity, uncertain about them. Agnosticism is the belief that there could be god, or there may not be god.
Agnotology is the study of culturally-induced ignorance, or a doubt in a society or country in the form of publishing inaccurate scientific data or through any other means. A civilised society, country respects agnostics, atheists and theists.
