Universities are ranked on the basis of the institution's reputation among academics and employers, and the number of research citations it gets per paper published in a specific discipline. Below is the list of highest ranked universities for doing a degree in business and management, as reported by Will Martin for Business Insider.

Harvard University: 97.0

The world’s most prestigious university is also the best institution for doing a degree in business and management. Harvard has achieved a score of over 94 in each and every category and 94.7 in business and management course in particular as tracked by QS. Mike Bloomberg, Jamie Dimon—CEO of JP Morgan, and former president George W. Bush are some of the eminent alumni of Harvard.

London Business School: 95.0

London Business School achieved the second place in the list of world’s top 10 universities for business and management course with the overall score of 95. It has an academic reputation score of 100 and an employer reputation marking of 93 as per QS scoring. Last year the London Business School topped QS' rankings but is knocked off its perch this year.

INSEAD: 94.3

The third place on the list of top 10 universities for business and management is secured by INSEAD with the average score of 94.3 as per QS tracking. It is the best university in non-English speaking country for doing courses in business and management. INSEAD is located in Paris and concentrates completely on postgraduate business degrees like MBA.

Stanford University: 92.6

With an overall score of 92.6, Stanford's Graduate School of Business achieves the fourth place in the list of top 10 universities for business and management degrees. It is one of the most prestigious institutions in America, and that prestige filters through to the university's business and management courses. The institution scored high on all the boards, but did exceptionally well in the number of H-index citations it receives.

University of Pennsylvania: 92.1

Although not much famous among the Ivy League Colleges, University of Pennsylvania is ranked fifth on the list of top 10 universities for studying business and management. As per the scoring done by QS, the university has got 92.1 marking. The university's Wharton School boasts former students like Warren Buffett (who dropped out before completing his degree) and US presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): 92.0

MIT has managed to achieve the sixth place, the same as in last year’s ranking, in the list of top 10 universities for doing a degree in business and management, with the overall average score of 92.0. MIT is most renowned for the degrees in subjects like Physics and Astrophysics with the highest rankings as per QS.

University of Cambridge: 91.7

This university has jumped 6 places from its previous ranking and secured seventh place in the list of top 10 universities for studying business and management. The university teaches business and management degrees in the Judge Business School.

University of Oxford: 91.5

Ranked eighth in the list of top 10 universities for doing business and management course, Oxford University has an overall score of 91.5 in the QS markings. The university is well known for its courses in subjects like classics, history, and languages. Although, Said Business School of the university provides one of the best business and management degrees in the world.

London School of Economics and Political Science: 90.7

LSE is the lowest ranked school to achieve the overall average score above 90 and has managed to secure ninth place. The university has achieved high scores in context to academic reputation and its reputation with employers.

Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi: 88.6

This university has slipped down from its last year’s ranking which was seventh to the last position in the list of top 10 universities for studying business and management with an average score of 88.6. Bocconi, based in Milan, Italy is the second best university to offer business and management degree courses in a non-English speaking country.
