GITAM University, Hyderabad organised a one day event TEDxGITAM Hyderabad in its campus on Thursday. The theme of the event was ‘Other Side’. Seven speakers from different walks came together shed light on the opportunities, problems and issues that we as individuals of a society face today.

Hyderabad: GITAM University, Hyderabad organised a one day event TEDxGITAM Hyderabad in its campus on Thursday. The theme of the event was ‘Other Side’. Seven speakers from different walks came together shed light on the opportunities, problems and issues that we as individuals of a society face today.

Programme inaugurated by Prof N Siva Prasad, Director, School of Technology, GITAM University, Hyderabad and explained about the CSR activities of their students. The speakers of the event were Ankur Thakuria, world traveler, young entrepreneur and social activist; Sanjay Jesrani, CEO, Go North Ventures and Member-Indian Angel Network; Venky, Founder, Photriya; Tushar Lall, Producer of ‘The Indian Jam Project’; Dr Archana Godbole, Founder Director, Applied Environmental Research Foundation; P B Sajan, Architect and Joint Director of COSTFOOD and M Sridhar, Pioneer in Pranic healing.

“You can’t start anything with a solution. You have to start with guanine problem” Sanjay Jesrani advised to the budding engineers. Integrity, curiosity, fire in the belly, high emotional quotient, clarity of purpose is the most important activities to a founder, he said. He quoted the Flipkart, which was started its business with 10 million US dollars and went up to 16 thousand million dollars by 2015.

Venky stressed need to think creatively and clarified that there is no competition in art related work. Dr Archana Godbole explained a length about the necessity to conserve the forests and biodiversity. Ankur Thakuria, who travelled million miles across the globe at the age 22, he visited 44 countries within six years short span of time explained the other side of loneliness, tiredness, language barriers and effects on personal life etc. Tushar Lall played his piano and explained his hurdles to reach this position.
