Vijayawada kid tops OBC list with all-India rank 4

Hyderabad: Aman Bansal from Jaipur has topped the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced), 2016, while Duggani Jeevithesh from Vijayawada topped the OBC list with an all-India ranking of 4 and Riya Singh from Kota, the topper among girls with an all-India ranking of 133.

The results of the JEE were released on Sunday on their official website www.jeeadv.ac.in. All India ranks of successful candidates will be made available on the website, but the candidates will not receive personalized rank cards. The exam was held on May 22.

A total of 1,47,678 candidates appeared for the exam. Out of the 36,566 qualified candidates, 31,996 (87.5 percent) are males and only 4,570 (12.5 percent) are females. As many as 10,575 seats are available in all the 23 IITs.

Apart from IITs, admissions on the basis of this exam are granted to other institutes like Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Rae Bareli, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram.

Rank lists will be prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE (Advanced). The cut-off mark for granting a rank for a candidate of general category was 13 in each subject (10 percent of 124) and 75 in aggregate (20 percent of total score 372).
