Old age can be a different experience for different people. One’s amidst family enjoy the companionship of their family members, while the ones away from their families due to various reasons desire the joy of togetherness. On the occasion of Grandparents day at Greenwood High, the grandparents with diverse experience and in different walks of life came together to relive their childhood. The grandparents also shook a leg to the music enjoying the spirit of youthfulness once again. Dance, games and fun later, selfies ensued, etching the memory of the day permanently.

“My grand kid and I usually walk in the park together but I never imagined participating in such activities and I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the activities. I feel this has made our bond much stronger and it was quite refreshing,” said one of the grandparents.

“Although we do spend time together at home and it is fun, today was a different experience. All the people here, especially the grandparents from Omashram, made it very special for us. It was exciting to see them all enjoy like children,” said one of the students.

“The event celebrated the relationship that the children share with their grandparents. It was a moment of joy for the gathering as they enjoyed all the activities. We also saw them extending their special bond to the members of the Omashram, senior citizen’s home, who became an integral part of the celebration. Being amidst our students, they also experienced an atypical day filled with excitement. Children were also sensitized to the importance of caring for the elderly at an age where they need adequate care. It is wonderful to know that our small gesture could bring a smile to their faces,” said Ms. Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High International School.
